My life is a series of existential crises. Have both high-functioning autism and ADHD. I am extremely introverted and prefer my inner world. I recharge in solitude but am not shy or quiet. I hate small talk and struggle with social interactions. I get exhausted from being around people and having to mask. I have struggled with addictions, eating disorders, anxiety and depression. I do not get embarrassed over things that most neurotypical people do, because It does not make sense to me to care about what others think about arbitrary petty things. I am an auditory processor so I think out loud when organizing the big picture after collecting data through extraverted intuition. Then I monologue and info dump. I go into solitude about every six months. I did the opposite of what you described. I explored early in life. I left home as a teenager and did not start settling down until my late 30s. The ADHD I think helped me with this because I was chasing dopamine to an extreme. I also experienced a lot of trauma. I learned a lot but I fried my nervous system. I get panic attacks and overstimulated and burnt myself out from masking. I never learned to regulate myself enough. I was misdiagnosed as a teen. I was not correctly diagnosed with AuDHD until my 50s.

This is the first time I have ever heard of AMF! And this is a very real thing with new skills! Some which we never really think go through these stages. Sometimes we quit something because of the awkward stage or the mechanical stage before we even get to the fluid stage! This is gold to know for some of us because we think something must be very wrong with me if I can't just be natural at something or why is this taking so long that it seems impractical to even implement something into our life or routine because we may feel that we will operate in the awkward or mechanical stage forever so we don't even start or try it.(Because we may not even be aware of or know these stages exist) I hope you have a video on AMF. I Think just an awareness of this can be life changing for some of us. Sory I know this was not the topic of the video but this is an important concept Thank you for sharing.

Won't lie, the critiques from the Se Te perspective always rub me the wrong way. I don't value what you value, you're reasoning of why this is bad doesn't apply to me. Looking shlubby, why would I cow tow to Se, I don't care how it affects me practically, I don't value it and others are wrong to value it so highly when trusting others opinions. When Garrett says almost the same things as Alexis in a diplomatic way without the superimposed valuing of Te Se I'm like yeah I agree, well said.

The explaining slowly is tough. I don't think I explain slowly, but I get the feeling sometimes people feels I am. This mostly happens when they think they understand, but don't (situation 2 below). The two situations these tends to happen for me are: 1. I don't understand enough detail about where the other person is and I'm struggling to know what they know and don't. I come across a lot of people who have the opposite problem (and I don't want to have this problem again), they'll assume the other person knows what they know. When they explain with this assumption, there is so little for the other person to grasp they just stare blankly or dishonestly nod. 2. I know more about what they don't understand then they do. They are missing a detail, even though they "know" the right answer. I have to walk through the steps for them to actually understand. This one I see the most annoyance with. If you don't grasp the reasoning, or only kinda grasp the reasoning here, you won't really understand and won't be able to have a good framework. This irony is intentional, I don't totally understand how important it is for others to have this framework. It does seem important even for other types to think logically, even Te types. If you don't want to understand, you should probably be clearer why you're asking, or ask a question that implies what you're really asking better.

Yeah I can relate to all those points. Except energy, I`ve always had plenty of that and both short term/peak and long term sustained output. Maybe because I had a Se focused childhood or perhaps v-shaped mesomorphic body type facilitates it. Data points at least indicate a certain linearity between my physical condition and stress therein and my mental (part of the body after all) clarity. Drama and being exposed to malice is still very very draining to me, as I guess it is to many INTJs. Some fun comments I`ve got over the years: "You`d better stop that or you`ll start suffering from over-intelligence!" "You are hard to pull out of your cocoon, but then you play and work more than twice as hard as anyone else around" "What the hell are you up to these days, achieving escape velocity from reality? We are WORRIED!" "How is it you transform from a measured and mindful person at the base to this crazed field maniac when on maneuver?"

I love INFP too. But they are not more moral than everyone else. They are complexly more concerned about their own goodness and right to exist. This inner struggle gets projected out as trying to heal the world, when in fact it is themselves they are trying to fix, and to heal, from their early childhood acquired misguided shame.

ENFJ guy…. My childhood friends mean a lot to me and I’ve made sure I’ve kept in touch with all of them. I’ve worked the hardest to keep us childhood mutual friends together. I tend to be the friend a person in distress will communicate with. I don’t criticize or belittle their concerns where others will. I listen but occasionally will try to give advice. I have this overwhelming feeling I need to help FIX the problem but learned to stay out of it. I try not to talk about myself. I will occasionally bring g up similar things that happened to me and let them know what I did and what the outcome was. I love hosting parties at my house. I try to make a fun atmosphere for my guests. I’m not well understood at work. I’m a scientist and I work with mainly ISTJs. I feel them as being cold, non-empathetic, and annoyed easily. It’s like oil and water with me but fortunately my boss is an ENFJs as well. That helps. However, it tends to make some of my coworkers jealous and somewhat paranoid. I’ve been friends with very toxic people because they have no one else. These people are definite energy vampires. I promise too much and get overwhelmed. I do what I can to keep my promises but I think it causes me to produce a lower quality product or my time with them feel lower quality time, at times and I feel guilty. My wife is an INFP and we’re paired perfectly. We don’t fight. Our arguments are short and we always come to a compromise. We promised each other we’d never go to bed mad at each other. All disagreements are resolved before bed. We’ve kept that promise for 33 years of marriage therefore there’s no resentment. Our family life is easy going and stress free. We produced 2 laid back, well-behaved kids. (Now Adults). My negatives… Worry Empath (positive and negative) Procrastinate Late a lot but feel guilty if I make people wait Sucker…. Impulse shopping
